Our 2008 season is nearing its end and our program continues to grow in the right direction as we have fielded an extremely competitive side this season winning 13 games to date with extremely closely contested matches vs. the top teams in the country.
The Bruins featured well in the Dennis Storer Classic in late January defeating strong teams from the conference before falling to Cal in the final in wet, muddy conditions at UCLA. We shall continue the DSC tradition every January going forward as it is a showcase event that brings some of the best teams from our region to Westwood to compete in the correct spirit of Collegiate rugby!
The Bruins also enjoyed a successful tour of Canada defeating a University of Victoria XV and a UBC XV while taking in the sights and hospitality of the Pacific Northwest. The team truly enjoyed this experience and is grateful to all of our supporters for helping the trip become a reality. The spirit of touring is to play good rugby, take in the sights and cultures of new places and to meet new people. The Bruins did not fall short in any of these areas!!
Our Hall of Fame Weekend is around the corner commencing with a BBQ reception at the Palisades Beach Club (267 Pacific Coast Highway) on Friday May 2, 2008 at 6pm. A formal dinner and auction will take place at 5:30pm Saturday May 3, 2008 at the UCLA Faculty Center.
A special guest speaker will be announced shortly!

Our 1st Annual Bay Area Golf Tournament will be held at the Presidio GC in San Francisco, dates to be confirmed. All of the above events are worthwhile reasons for us to get together and support UCLA Rugby! Please stay tuned to our website at bruinrugby.com for all future updates regarding matches and to RSVP to an event. We hope that your Bruins shall continue to be a source of intense pride for all of our alumni and supporters!
