Vision:
UCLA Men’s Rugby will become an internationally recognized program noted for
academic achievement, superior on field performance and a high quality code of
conduct observed by its players. Through the global reach and spirit of rugby,
our program will serve as ambassadors of goodwill for UCLA in the local,
national and international communities.
Mission:
To promote and support the sport of Men’s Rugby at UCLA.
Purposes:
The primary purposes of this organization are to:
- Raise funds to support the
ongoing operation of the UCLA Men’s Rugby program, including a salary for
a full time coach.
- Establish an endowment to
ensure the long-term financing of UCLA Men’s Rugby.
- Support the long-term growth
and expansion of Men’s Rugby at UCLA.
- Increase awareness of UCLA
Rugby among UCLA students, alumni and the greater Rugby community through
events and marketing.
- Support interaction between
alumni and the current program.
Founded in 2002 by a group of dedicated UCLA
Rugby alumni and supporters, Friends of Bruin Rugby (FOBR) is dedicated to
promoting and supporting the sport of Men’s Rugby at UCLA. With strong
leadership and an active and growing alumni membership, FOBR has been
instrumental in raising the funds and support needed to re-establish UCLA Men’s
Rugby as one of the elite collegiate programs in the US. In order to achieve
our goals, FOBR host numerous events that support the program financially and
encourage alumni/supporter involvement. The Dennis Storer Classic (Pac-10),
Hall of Fame Dinner, Golf Tournaments and Rose Bowl Tailgate are all great
events that allow our supporters to reconnect with each other and support our
